Ladysmiths Relief was a Music Hall troupe formed in April 1976, from people who attended Sutton Traditional Folk Club. They performed Music Hall songs, monologues, magic, escapology melodrama, and comedy routines, and had a chairman presiding over the whole evenings entertainment. The troupe comprised of:-

Paul Ryan

Dot Ryan

Mavis Daw

Jim Daw

Derek Catley

Jan Catley

Dawn Bruton

Dave Bruton

Chris Lowe

Shirley Lowe

They originally formed to do a Music Hall night at the Sutton Traditional Folk Club, and this led on to bookings. It is thought that their first performance was at the Waggon & Horses in Greet, where  they did a charity night for Birmingham Accident Hospital. They performed around Birmingham, Lichfield and North Warwickshire in pubs, clubs, old folks homes and churches. As they gradually expanded what they were doing, it was found necessary to build their own portable stage, complete with curtains, a comprehensive lighting set up, and a portable harmonium, driven by a vacuum cleaner  motor.

You can see a few pictures of the members of Ladysmiths relief, also a  cutting from the Rugeley Times in 1983 and lists of bookings that they did from 1977 to 1990 below. Some of the photos were take on bookings which are not on the lists featured
