In 1990 Banner Theatre* presented a weekend devoted to the life and work of Ewan McColl, entitled "The Red Megaphone". The weekend, held at the Midlands Arts Centre included, tributes, films, concerts, discussions and workshops. A poster advertising the weekend event was given to me by Pam Bishop, and has been reproduced below.
*Banner Theatre was a socialist theatre company based in Birmingham which was formed in 1973, included amongst the members were a number of folk singers from the Grey Cock Folk club. The history of the Banner Theatre, which is still in existence today, can be found at:-
